BUTTERFLIES, BEACHES and BUFFETT IN MARGA-RELAY-VILLE

• One idea is to have a live butterfly release at the event, this would be nice at the opening ceremony or at the start of the Survivor Lap (weather permitting and if donated butterflies can be secured).  Treat the Survivor to a luau style dinner and show with non-alcoholic Margaritas served on ice!  Tropical feel and theme to everything. Make it a big Beach Party! Happy hour themed activities at each campsite.

DANCING UNDER THE STARS – Make a night out of Getting Down and Twisting out Cancer!  

• Build your entertainment and team themes around dancing related.  One example is “ROCK AROUND THE CLOCK - Sock Hoppin for a Cure (50's Theme)”

GAME ON! Cancer is about to meet it’s match!

•  Build your event around each team having a “Game” Theme. Monopoly, LIFE, Operation, Chess, Cards, Sport related, etc.

HAPPILY EVER AFTER, life without cancer

• Use Fairytale themes, and make your event slogan “Making the Fairytale of a Cure Come True.” An event theme that can use the “Fantasy” and “Fairytale.” Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, etc can be campsite themes or make your own.

ONCE UPON A CURE, there was a wicked word… Cancer

• Nursery Rhyme Theme - Campsites decorated in nursery rhyme décor.  If permissible, a Balloon release with a note of HOPE attached to each departing balloon in recognition of someone we love.  Team members can dress as their favorite Nursery Rhyme Characters!

VIVA LAS VEGAS! What happens at relay, helps save lives!

• Have Vegas be your theme – hold Vegas style fundraising games, etc.  Choose your Favorite from Vegas… Elvis, The Rat Pack, Barry Manilow, Show Girls, Ziegfeld and Roy,  Cher and so many more.  Ideas at: www.vegasmadeeasy.com

A NIGHT AT THE THEATER - Putting the Spotlight on a Cure!!

• Make your event about the Movies and Theater.  Have Teams play out a favorite line or “dress the part” for their campsite theme.  Welcome Survivors with a Red Carpet Walk, have “STAR POINTS” (spirit points), have a “STAR SEARCH” talent contest, and so on!  Possibly have a local school or theater group put on a short presentation during the Survivors Dinner (dinner theater).

ROADMAP TO A CURE – We are putting the Brakes on Cancer!

• Have a road trip theme – Campsites can decorate as “destinations”, “scenic overlooks”, “gas station”,  “general store” or any favorite “site seeing spot” along the highway of life!  Sell Postcards created by your team and that highlight your campsite theme!  

BETWEEN TWO BEACHES, Sunshine, Smiles and Walking the Miles for a Cure!

• Yes, we are between two Beautiful Beaches!  Have campsites themed in their favorite Florida activity or vacation spot, you know we have so many here!  (like Tarzan from the 50’s in Silver Springs or Western from the long past Six Gun Territory theme park, to your favorite dinner (if in business, maybe they could donate an item or gift certificate from their business to chance raffle!)

“CURE” ONE WORD THAT IS MUSIC TO MY EARS!

• This could be any type of music, band or group that your team chooses to use as their theme.  Invite local singers or school bands and or choirs to perform, play music videos, get the word out and have a “Concert” or “Battle of the Bands” on center stage!    

LET'S MAKE CANCER HISTORY!

• Every team picks a different era for their team (ie: 1960’s or 1980’s) Have a dance contest for every different era such as the electric slide, twist, Macarena, etc.  Plus, you can have a trivia contest with history, pop culture, and you can Highlight Cancer Milestones for your era at your site as well.

CLASSICS FOR A CURE - We are Cruise'n with Hope

• Car Show Theme!, Pick your favorite car and era, decorate your site around a particular Club, Make and or Model 

COMEDY FOR A CURE - Laughter Helps the Healing!

• With this theme, based around Comedy,   Get local standup comedian Help open the, have improv all night and vote for the best improv standup comedian at your event.   Have Funny Themed Laps.  Show Comedy movies all night on a TV.   Have another for Children’s movies, showing Disney movies (Funny ones). Have every campsite have a comedy theme.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS - My Gift to You is Unwrapping a Cure… There is No Holiday From Cancer!

• Have holiday related themes for campsites!  Pick your favorite Holiday from throughout the year.  Have an Egg Hunt, Carolers, Trick or Treating event or even 4^th of July Picnic for the Survivors dinner!

LETTERS OF LOVE - C U R E  &  H O P E

• Theme based on written letters of correspondence; anything from “do you like me, check yes or no” to Love Letters and greeting cards from those we love.  Have fun, be creative and have letter writing competitions between teams (email can be included!)

HORSE'N AROUND - Blazing Trails for and On Track for a Cure!

• Equine Themed Event, you can choose to do Western, English, or just Horse Theme Campsites.  Have the Opening Ceremony Begin with the local color guard and local mounted police unit at attention during our National Anthem.  Have a Children’s section for Pony Rides. Have Fun, this is Horse Country!

ANIMATED FOR HOPE - Get Tooned in for a Cure!

• Have Cartoons as the THEME FOR THE WHOLE EVENT, and every campsite has a cartoon theme

PICTURE THIS - A World without Cancer would be Heavenly!

• Based on photos, artwork, favorite films and Memories…  Just like your favorite photo albums, scrapbooks, movie or song, we hold people in our memories and hearts.  Campsites could showcase team member’s family, friends and or favorite personalities that have either Survived, Passed or are Battling cancer.

MY HOBBY IS YOUR HOPE – With Mind, Heart and Body... We are Creating for a Cure!

• Nearly everyone has a hobby or pastime that they love, why not come together and share your craft to theme out your site; Whether it is Needlework, Automotive, Painting, Musical, Gardening, Drawing or even Computer Driven we all have a skill!

• Teams can choose their favorite superhero or create a new one!  Decorate campsites in any manner fitting your superhero’s theme.  Have your Survivors become “Super Friends” who enjoy a Victory Lap for Defeating Cancer!  Decorate your Registration Tent as the “Survivor Central”.
